The Antwerp Shipping Federation (ASF) was founded 1901 as the professional association of the Antwerp based independent as well as the shipping line related shipping agencies. ASF is involved in a large number of operational, general port and shipping aspects that influence the nautical access of the port of Antwerp.  Furthermore it acts as a mediator for its member companies in several nautical matters.

ASF also organises the secretariat for NAVES (National Federation of Associations of Ship agents and brokers).

In addition, the members of ASF are also affiliated to the world federation FONASBA (National Federation of Ship Brokers and Agents) and its European department ECASBA (European Community Association of Ship Brokers and Agents).
